Thiruvananthapuram: Passengers can book tickets while travelling in KSRTC buses that have already begun their trips, from next onwards. The live ticket booking facility would be launched on all long-distance buses. You can reserve tickets by noting the vacant seats that are updated as and when passengers deboard. The booking could be done using the ENTE KSRTC Neo mobile application. When the new contract with a private company called ‘Chalo App’ comes into existence, users can pay via digital methods and by scanning QR codes. ‘Chalo App’ is currently available for the KSRTC SWIFT buses and a few depots in Thiruvananthapuram. This app assists KSRTC with data analysis to find busy routes and send more buses.
Last month, the KSRTC also updated its ticket reservation policy. As per the latest rules, a failure to refund ticket prices of cancelled services, within 24 hours would force its officials to pay a fine. The Corporation recently updated the online reservation guidelines to include these guidelines. These are some of the other latest changes:

1) The passengers are eligible for full refunds if the service gets delayed by more than two hours or gets cancelled.
2) A refund would be issued within two days if the service gets cancelled due to accidents or breakdowns.
3) The refund amount will be charged from the concerned official as a fine if there is a delay in issuing the refund.
4) A full refund would be issued if the service gets cancelled due to technical problems and the ticket details aren’t recorded in the trip sheet.
5) If the KSRTC is responsible for not picking up the passenger from the stipulated pick-up point, then the entire ticket amount would be refunded.

6) If the passenger travels in a class lower than the scheduled upper class, then the difference in ticket rate would be returned.
7) If the passenger is unable to use the online ticket and has to travel in the same bus by purchasing regular tickets, then 50% of the basic fare would be returned.
