Air India Express launches ‘baggage tracker and protect’ service; Compensation for baggage delay

Air India Express has recently flagged off ‘Baggage Tracker and Protect’ services which allow passengers to track their baggage. Moreover, this facility ensures compensation in case of baggage delays or damages. The budget flyer is associated with Blue Ribbon Bag to provide live updates to passengers about their baggage status via SMS or email. Domestic passengers can claim compensation up to Rs 19,000 per bag if they do not receive their baggage within ninety-six hours after the aeroplane has landed. Meanwhile, it could go up to Rs 66,000 for international passengers. The passengers could pre-book this service on the airline’s mobile app or website.
The booking rate is Rs 95 for domestic travellers and Rs 330 for international passengers. Dr. Ankur Garg, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India Express said that the airline was consistently working on providing technologically enabled services to the passengers for enhancing comfort and convenience. He also added that services like baggage tracking provide transparency while offering more personalised travel experiences. Meanwhile, Siraj Shah, Senior Vice President and partner at Blue Ribbon Bag said that they were thrilled to enter into a partnership with Air India Express.
He noted that their expertise in baggage tracking and protection services would enhance customer satisfaction and ensure an amazing travelling experience for the passenger. Air India Express has been offering lots of services to improve their customer relations. The airline had recently added Xpress Lite where passengers without check-in baggage can book tickets for a lower fare, and Xpress Flex which allows passengers to change flights until two hours before the flight and in-flight gourmet meals to its new range of fares. Meanwhile, the airline company has been introducing new and hybrid aircraft in various sectors which include business–class configurations with wider seats, more legroom and other amazing benefits too. Moreover, as per the data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, in February 2024, Air India Express is the most punctual airline that operates services in India.
