Palakkad: The Madurai Junction – Thiruvananthapuram Central Amritha Express (train no. 16344) was regulated for a few days due to essential track maintenance work carried out by the Palakkad Division between Parali, Ottapalam and Lakkidi sections will now onwards be run as per the usual schedule. Railway authorities informed that the division has finished the track renewal work by replacing sleepers and the old rails. The work was carried out to ensure the safety of trains and improve operational efficiency, which will directly benefit the travelling public.
Increasing the frequency of Bi-Weekly Express
Bringing relief to the passengers from the Southeastern regions of the country, the railways have decided to make the Tatanagar Junction – Ernakulam Junction Bi-Weekly express (train no. 18189) that used to leave from Tatanagar Junction on Thursdays and Sundays, as a daily express train from March 7, Thursday. Likewise, the Ernakulam Junction – Tatanagar Junction Bi-Weekly express (Train No 18190) that used to run on Sundays and Wednesdays will be operated as daily express March 10, Sunday. Authorities informed that there will be no changes in the timings and stoppages of these trains.
Experimental stoppage for train service at Kundapura
As per the advice from Konkan Railway, The Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Kochuveli Bi-Weekly Express (train no. 22113) and the Kochuveli - Lokmanya Tilak (T)) Bi-Weekly Express (train no. 22114) will be provided with an additional stoppage at Kundapura Station on experimental basis and timings as detailed below. The Lokmanya Tilak (T)-bound train will reach Kundapura at 8 am, while the Kochuveli-bound train will reach the station at 2.02 pm, informed the railway authorities.
