Dubai: Budget carrier Air India Express (AIE) has unveiled its new vision ahead of its proposed merger with Air Asia.
The integration with Air Asia, which operates domestic services, will pave the way for astonishing growth for AIE, which primarily focuses on international services to the Gulf and the South East Asian countries, the airline officials said.
Aloke Singh, Managing Director, AIE and AirAsia India, on Monday articulated the shared vision of the combined brand during a lively discussion with employees of both airlines.
AIE is getting ready for the change as part of Vihaan.AI, the comprehensive five-year transformation plan unveiled by Air India to establish itself as a world-class global airline once again.
The move will open doors to new opportunities and create meaningful connections. Besides creating a meaningful market presence, the aim of the merger is to transform into a global airline that links the masses, various cultures, and opportunities with traditional Indian hospitality, Aloke Singh said.
Through the merger of fleets and networks, the new brand would seek growth opportunities both in the domestic and international sectors. The goal is to transform into the most popular airline in India by excelling in all areas, he pointed out.
The authorities earlier introduced a system where passengers could buy tickets for both Air India Express and Air Asia India through its website. Also, both airlines now jointly handle customer care services and social media accounts.
