Around 10 trains are cancelled, four short terminated and a few diverted due to the landslides and heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh. The state has been experiencing heavy showers since Monday night, resulting in two deaths and damage of several houses in the districts of Solan and Hamilpur. More landslides are predicted in the state as rain continues to lash the districts.
Rail operations are suspended on the world heritage site of Kalka - Shimla track. Mud blocked rail tracks at around 23 sites in the State. Trees have also falled on tracks at certain stations.
Over 200 people are reportedly stranded in Bagipul area of Mandi district and evacuation is reportedly underway. Many stretches of various National Highways are also closed for traffic movement due to flash floods.
