Kochi: The Water Metro authority published the timetable for the metro services in the busy Vytilla – Kakkanad route recently.

The first service begins from Vytilla at 8 am and returns from Kakkanad at 8.40 am. The second service is at 9.30 am from Vytilla and at 10.10 am from Kakkanad.

Meanwhile, the third boat starts at 11 am and the return journey begins at 11.40 am. The afternoon service begins at 3.30 pm from Vytilla and 4.10 pm from Kakkanad. Services are available at 5 pm in Vytilla and 5.40 pm at Kakkanad. The next service starts from Vytilla at 6.30 pm. Meanwhile, the return journey from Kakkanad starts at 7.10 am. The recently started metro services experienced rush hours in both the routes.

KMRL MD Loknath Behra said that passengers could board the boats using digital tickets instead of paper tickets. Those who have downloaded the Kochi App can purchase mobile tickets too.

Passengers could download the application and click on water metro’s tab before selecting the departing and arriving terminals. A QR code ticket would be sent to the mobile phone as soon as the ticket fare is paid. This code would be scanned at the AFC gate before boarding the boat.

Meanwhile, passengers could also purchase RFID card tickets at the counter. These tickets should be dropped in the boxes placed near the AFC gate. Weekly, monthly and quarterly passes too are available. Up to twelve trips are allowed in seven days using the weekly pass; this costs Rs 180.

Meanwhile, the monthly pass could be purchased for Rs 600 and the passengers can use this pass for up to fifty trips in thirty days. The ninety day pass cost Rs 1500 and could be used for 150 trips. The counter would be closed after issuing tickets for the last service of the day. The passengers who come with QR code tickets after the counter is closed will be able to cancel those tickets.
