Kalpetta: Wayanad is all set to become the epitome of five-star luxury as the Taj Wayanad Resort and Spa would be opened on 22 October. The mega project built by spending a whopping amount of Rs 120 crore will put Wayanad in the map of luxurious tourism and wellness. The resort has been built in the quaint isle that projects into the Banasura Sagar dam at Manjoora in Thariode. The Taj Wayanad that sprawls in 10 acres boasts of central Tourism Ministry’s five-star classification. The project is led by expatriate Keralite N Mohan Krishnan.
The buildings are built in an eco-friendly way, facing the clear waters of the Banasura Sagar dam. The hotel has already become the talk of the town for its international standards in luxury. The rooms, cottages and villas provide a 270-degree panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. Besides, Taj Wayanad has three restaurants that serve cuisine from around the globe. The mesmerizing views of the majestic dam and the surrounding hills that are covered in a blanket of mist are sure to draw visitors. Besides 61 rooms, there are 4 pool villas, 42 water frontage cottages, a rooftop bar and spacious garden areas at the Taj Wayanad. The Presidential villa that is 864 square feet in area is one of the main highlights here. Moreover, there is a yoga pavilion, Amphi theatre and a Jeeva spa to provide a wholesome experience to the guests.
Mohan Krishnan, who is also the CMD of the Banasura Sagar Hotels and Resorts said that the mega project would put Wayanad in the global tourism map. Minister PA Muhammad Riyas would inaugurate the hotel at 9.30 am tomorrow. This is for the first time that such a huge investment has been made in the tourism sector of Wayanad.
