Munnar: The renowned Eravikulam National Park in Kerala has been reopened for visitors recently after a two months break. Located near the popular hill station Munnar in Idukki district, the park was closed for visitors on February 1 considering the breeding season of the Nilgiri tahr, which is the biggest attraction of the place.
According to Tourism Department officials, several new facilities have been introduced at the park. “Entry tickets will be available online only. They can be purchased from the website www.eravikulamnationalpark.in. Moreover, the QR code to book tickets will be displayed at major hotels in Munnar. Tourists can buy tickets by scanning the code also,” said an official. The ticket charge per person is Rs 200.
Authorities have also introduced a buggy car for senior citizens and differently-abled visitors to take a tour of the park. The fare is Rs 500 for five people to travel a distance of 1.5 km.
