Kuravilangad: Even when he was undergoing treatment at the hospital, Santhosh George Kulangara did not forget about his job. Photos of the Keralite globetrotter editing videos to be telecast on the Safari TV channel from the hospital bed have gone viral on social media.

Santhosh had gone to the hospital in Kochi for routine check-up on January 11, when he was diagnosed with gallstones (lumps that develop in the gallbladder). The doctors instructed him to undergo surgery.

The next day, when he was getting ready to leave for his native place from the hospital, he suffered from acute breathlessness. He was again admitted to the intensive care unit.

Afflicted with pneumonia, his lungs had severe problems. He needed to be on ventilator support. Even then he did not put off editing the next episode of 'Oru Sanchariyude Diary Kurippukal', his programme on the channel.

Now having recovered from the illness, Santhosh is back at the office.

"Editing videos on the laptop from the hospital is no big deal. If we take up one job, we need to complete it with utmost sincerity. Other issues do not matter. It is not any stubbornness that I would work with no care for my life. But it would be unbearable for me if my programme got negative feedback.

“Hospital, illness etc are just issues that matter to me and my family. That should not affect everyday tasks,” said Santhosh George Kulangara.
