Lakshmi Nair has made a mark on the small screen as an anchor and a culinary expert and she also loves to travel to exotic places and introduce gastronomical uniqueness of those places to Keralites.

With the lockdown regulations in place, people have aborted their travel plans and are staying indoors. And Lekshmi is one among them. She had to cancel her long-standing yearning to go on a cruise, and the plan was to travel on Italian ship Costa Victoria from Kochi to Maldives. She also wanted to vlog about the swanky and imposing cruise ship Costa Victoria.

"I really wanted to go on a voyage on Costa Victoria cruise ship after seeing videos and photos of the ship on social media. The ship with its magnificent interiors and superlative facilities is a treat for any traveller. I was dejected when I had to call off my voyage," admits Lekshmi.

All the requisite formalities were completed for the trip was through a private agency and the voyage was due to start on March 4. The culinary expert was also supposed to be the chief guest of a food festival in Saudi Arabia for which she also got the visa. But both plans had to be cancelled due to lockdown-induced travel restrictions.

"It is better to stay home and be safe considering the prevailing situation. Everyone should stand united in the fight against this pandemic by following the instructions and directions of the government and health ministry, and eventually everything will be back to normal," notes Lekshmi.
