One of the oldest and most popular travel guides Lonely Planet has listed top 10 cities to visit in 2020 and the only Indian city on the list is the "nicely chilled" Kochi.
In a bid to promote sustainable travel, Lonely Planet has only focused on cities that are making a positive impact on the environment.
"Kochi has become a shining example in renewable energy in recent years, launching the world's first fully solar-powered airport, which snagged it a UN Champions of the Earth award," says Lonely Planet.
Other cities on the list include Salzburg in Austria, described as a "heart-stealer of an Alpine city," Cairo in Egypt and Bonn in Germany.
Lonely Planet describes Kochi as a city that embraces its heritage while embracing the new-found cool.
It also mentions the vibrant boho cafes and homestays nestled in greenery that beckon tourists from all over the world.
