Heading to Kerala from Bengaluru? KSRTC opens tatkal booking

Bengaluru: Hardly a week to go for the Christmas weekend, Kerala’s government-run transporter have started tatkal reservation on Wednesday on its buses plying from Bengaluru to various destinations in Kerala. Tatkal tickets can be booked 48 hours in advance.

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has earmarked five to 10 seats in A/C multi axle, deluxe and express buses for the last-minute tatkal bookings, which will cost the passengers 10 percent more than the usual ticket rates.

The KSRTC’s Christmas special buses started service on Wednesday. As many as 16 buses will be pressed into service daily up to December 24. Special buses will be run from Kerala towns to Bengaluru from December 25 to January 2.

The KSRTC tickets are in high demand after hopes dimmed for a special train from Bengaluru to Kerala to meet the heavy rush for Christmas. The railway has suspended ticket booking as the waiting list has crossed 300. Tatkal booking for trains leaving on December 22 will start a day ahead.
