Air India recently started direct flights from Mumbai and Delhi to Maldives. Indians planning to enjoy a relaxing beach vacation in the Maldives can now directly reach the island nation. Maldives is a fabulous tourist spot for those who love pristine beaches and luxury resorts. The number of Indian tourists visiting Maldives will likely soar when direct flights are launched. The flight from Delhi departs at 10.15 am and reaches Maldives by 1.50 pm.

Meanwhile, the return trip starts at 2.50 pm and arrives by 7.25 pm. The service from Mumbai takes off at 9.30 am and lands in Maldives at 11.50 am. The return flight starts at 12.50 pm and arrives in Mumbai by 4.05 pm. That said, considering Air India's regular cancellation of flights in recent times, many flyers and tourists are worried whether the pattern can affect their holiday plans. A few weeks ago, Air India cancelled 60 flights to the US during peak season. Though the new Maldives service has reportedly been on schedule so far, ensure that you stay updated on your flight schedules and have a backup plan ready in case of unforeseen timing changes or cancellations.
