Himachal means a 'mountain of snow' and snowfall has already begun in Himachal Pradesh this year. Consequently, many parts of the State are taking on the shape that the name suggests. Himachal Pradesh is also the best place to experience snowfall at the lowest cost. Let us explore some lesser-known places in Himachal Pradesh where one can enjoy the snow and the view of the majestic mountains.

Kinnaur
Located in the northeastern part of Himachal Pradesh, Kinnaur is the perfect place to enjoy snow. Kinnaur has already embraced the first snowfall of the year with open arms. The valleys and mountains are blanketed by snow, and the region is renowned for its orchids, ancient monasteries, and the warm welcome extended to visitors by the locals. A trip to Kinnaur, a district not very popular among tourists, to enjoy snow can be an awesome experience.

Lahaul Spiti
If you love snow-capped mountains and sparkling lakes in your tourist travels, Lahaul Spiti is the right place for you. Lahaul and Spiti, formerly two separate districts, are now a single district. Home to Himalayan passes at high altitudes and ancient Buddhist monasteries, the features of this place are so beautiful and different that it will make you wonder whether it is a place on earth.

Kullu
Kullu, which is a small town on the road to Manali when there is no snow, transforms into a tourist destination that welcomes visitors in droves when it snows. The surrounding Himalayas and the Beas River turn Kullu into a quintessential Himalayan town. The Great Himalayan National Park is also situated in Kullu.

Mandi
Famous for its international Shivaratri festival and ancient temples, Mandi is also known as the cultural capital of Himachal Pradesh. If you want to experience a traditional Himalayan town with snow, you can visit Mandi. Standing next to centuries-old structures as snowflakes fall from the sky can be a rare and memorable experience in one’s life.

Kangra
The Kangra Fort is considered to be the largest of its kind in the Himalayas and the oldest in India. The rock-cut temple at Masroor and the Ambika Mata temple inside the Kangra fort are also situated here. Visitors can witness the spectacular sight of snow falling on the expansive tea plantations. A trip to the land with more than 3,000 years of history, especially when it snows, offers visitors such a unique package.
