The Indian Railways has introduced amazing tour packages to visit some of the well-known tourist spots and pilgrimage centres in India’s south western region. The IRCTC’s ‘Bharat Gourav’ train tour package includes exclusive trips to various destinations in Mysore, Hampi, Shirdi, Shani Shingapur, Nasik and Goa.
The next trip in this package begins on June 17 from Kochuveli. The passengers could board the train from Kochuveli, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Ottapalam, Palakkad Junction, Podannur Junction, Erode Junction and Salem stations.

The trip begins on June 17 from Kochuveli and covers Mysore, Hampi, Shirdi, Shani Shinganapur, Nasik and Goa before returning on June 26.
The Bharat Gourav tourist train can accommodate up to 754 passengers in AC three tier and sleeper classes (544 passengers in standard class and 210 passengers in comfort class).
Passengers could board the train from Kochuveli, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Ottapalam, Palakkad Junction, Podannur Junction, Erode Junction and Salem.
Meanwhile, on the return trip, the train would stop at Mangaluru, Kannur, Kozhikode, Shornur, Thrissur, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Kollam and Kochuveli stations.
The service of safety personnel is available in the train to ensure the passengers’ safety. Besides, CCTV cameras are installed in all the coaches.
The ticket fare for standard class in non AC compartments is Rs 18,350 per head. Meanwhile, it is Rs 28,280 per head for comfort class in third AC.
Train journey, accommodation and vehicle facilities
The passengers could select sleeper class or three tier AC class in train. They could also choose AC or non AC vehicles for the road trips. Accommodation would be arranged in air conditioned hotels.
Vegetarian meals would be provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service of tour escorts and security personnel is available. The passengers would be provided travel insurance. LTC service is available for central and state government employees.

The destinations include the St. Philomena’s Cathedral in Mysore which is one of the tallest Christian churches in Asia, Mysore Palace which was the official residence of the Wodeyar dynasty, Brindavan gardens close to the Krishnasagar dam, Chamundi Hills where the Chamundeshwari temple is located (Mysore is named after the Mahishasura Mardini temple here), Mysore Rail Museum which was only the second rail museum in India, Hampi which is a UNESCO world heritage site, Shirdi Sai Baba temple, Shani Shinganapur temple, Trimbakeshwar Shiva temple which is located at the origin of Holy River of Godavari in Nasik, Panchavadi which is mentioned in Ramayana, many historical sites in Goa like the Calangute Beach and Basilica of Bom Jesus Cathedral.
