It’s also known as the Sunset Beach in Goa because one can get gorgeous views of both the sunrise and sunset here. The blue-ish sparkle seen in the waters at night is owing to the presence of bioluminescent algae that makes for a visual treat when the tides hit the shores. This phenomenon doesn’t last for a long time and the visitors can catch it if they are lucky. The Betalbatim Beach is a less crowded and relatively quiet beach, however, there have been quite a lot of people coming in to see this wonderful phenomenon.
In addition to this feature, there are other activities arranged on the Beach, like parasailing and other sea sports. Unlike a lot of other beaches in Goa, this beach is calm and pristine with its lovely white sand stretches and pine tree clusters. Betalbatim Beach is 22 km away from Goa airport. Taking the current disastrous Covid situation into consideration, the authorities have banned entry to the beach. The government had also imposed a lockdown in the state, starting April 29 to May 3, 2021. The visitors were allowed to stay in their hotels during this time, but were restricted from stepping out. The hope that hangs around this lovely town of breezy beaches is for good times to return so that it could welcome back its happy and excited visitors.
