If the idea of 14-day quarantine is discouraging you from taking a vacation, here's some good news. There are many states in India which do not require mandatory institutional or home quarantine. On World Tourism Day, here are five destinations for you to take a trip taking all the precautions needed. Remember to wear your masks and carry a sanitiser.
Uttarakhand
If you are obsessed with the beauty of hills and you think that mountains are calling, you can now visit Uttarakhand. All you have to do is to register yourself on the web portal of tourism department. Uttarakhand tourism department tweeted, "Uttarakhand lifts all travel restrictions and tourists will no longer need to produce Covid-negative certificates to travel to the state. They just need to register themselves on the web portal http://smartcitydehradun.uk.gov.in prior to their visit." If any tourist tests COVID positive, the hotel management has been asked to intimate the District Administration immediately.
Rajasthan
Rajasthan has also removed the mandatory quarantine order for interstate travellers and has asked travellers to adhere to all kinds of precautions. Passengers shall be screened at check posts, which will be set up at interstate borders. They will also be required to show personal IDs for identification if they are taking a bus to reach Rajasthan. Masks are mandatory to travel anywhere in the state.
Goa
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that people no longer have to get tested for COVID-19 on arrival. Those who are travelling need not carry an e-pass or a COVID negative certificate. Travellers need not isolate upon arrival. The state has also planned to open bars and hotels again considering social distancing, temperature check and making masks compulsory.
Karnataka
People travelling from other states to Karnataka need not undergo the mandatory quarantine for 14 days. Travellers need not register themselves on the Seva Sindhu portal before starting their journey. Travelers who find themselves symptomatic on arrival must seek medical aid immediately or call the Apthamira helpline @14410 and self-isolate.
Himachal Pradesh
Travellers need not quarantine upon arrival nor register before the journey. There is no need for separate permission/approval/prior testing to enter the State. Tourists must have downloaded Aarogya Setu App on their mobiles and are advised to follow the guidelines for safe and responsible tourism.
