Every year, monsoon arrives in Munnar with a handful of seasonal visitors – waterfalls. Numerous pretty waterfalls appear out of nowhere in the hilly terrain of the tourist spot, as it begins to rain. Erachilpara wateralls near Kanthalloor, which appears in the beautiful woods of Iravikulam National Park in Rajamala is such a fall, for which nature enthusiasts wait for.

Monsoon arrived late this year but after the recent few rains, Erachilpara is flowing in full glory and tourists are flocking to the area. The one thousand feet tall waterfall is on the path from the entrance area in Anjam mile to Rajamala. The water from the Chinnanamudi hills that is situated on the lower part of the 8842 feet high Anamudi ranges, meanders through the huge rocks before its cascades into the scintillating waterfall.

Interestingly, Erachilpara is the largest waterfall in Munnar. The beautiful destination is also home to waterfalls like Lakkam, Nayamakad, Aattukad, Periya Canal and Viripara. The vehicles of the forest department that carry tourists into the national park often stops here so that the visitors could enjoy a close view of this waterfall. The waterfall would disappear as soon as the monsoon ends.
