Pala: KSRTC is arranging tour packages which allow passengers to enjoy the splendid beauty of the pristine forests in a pocket friendly budget. The package of Rs 522 covers all the scenic spots in Chalakudi, Vazhachal, Athirappilly and Malakkapara. The views could be enjoyed sitting comfortably on the pushback seats in the semi sleeper air conditioned busses.

The service has been scheduled on all Sundays and begins at 6.30 am at Pala. The inaugural trip is on October 24. The bus would stop at all the important sight seeing spots like Athirappilly view point, Charpa waterfall, Peringalkuthu dam reservoir, Anakayam Bridge, Sholayar dam, Valve house, Penstock, Nellikunnu and Malakkapara tea estate. Malakkapara which is 80 kilometers away from Chalakudi is situated around 900 meters above the sea level. The tour service has been sanctioned after travel enthusiasts had submitted a request via Jose K Mani, the Chairman of Kerala Congress (M). The tickets could be reserved in advance.
