A one of its kind art house, the Revi Karunakaran Memorial Museum in Alappuzha is a unique showplace which houses decorative artifacts and collections from all over the world.

Hence, it is no wonder that TripAdvisor, the global travel platform recommends the 30,000 sq ft museum as one of the must-see places in Kerala on its traveller's choice list for 2020.

The huge collection of classic artifacts was initially sourced by Revi Karunakaran’s father, coir industrialist K.C. Karunakaran and his wife Margaret, a native of Germany, from their many trips the world over. Later on, Revi Karunakaran and Betty carried on the tradition and brought in the finest exhibits they could collect.

Some of the rare collections include the Buick Supercar, brought to India in 1948, 24-carat gold plated tea set, a Chinese dressing table, Tanjore paintings, a traditional sculpture from Papua New Guinea, a portrait of the Russian Tsar family in porcelain and the “Dasavatharam” carved in ivory.

A 200-sq ft long mural made from vegetable dyes is another attraction.
