Cherppu: Sajeer who has been running a thattukada (wayside eatery) at Poochinnipadam centre for the last 25 years is a master in giving unique names for the dishes that are served at the eatery. It is quite evident from the menu at his eatery, in which you may find strange names for your familiar dishes. Padayappa, Runway, Paavada, Chinatown, Eecha, Jilla, Koothara, Thuppakki, Odiyan, Ramaleela, Moitheen, Randu Penkuttikal, Bilal and Bilal 2 are not the names of blockbuster movies but delicious dishes at Sajeer’s eatery.

Even the movies that tanked at the box office become instant hits when they are turned into tasty dishes here. For instance, the movie Randu Penkuttikal didn’t fare well in the box office but is one of the most ordered dishes at Sajeer’s hotel.
His love for food and movie names began with Padayappa, a delicious dish that he prepared with eggs and tapioca. The spicy chutney that accompanies the dish packs a punch as the fiery dialogues in Rajnikanth’s Padayappa.
Sajeer has already introduced a dish called Bilal 2 even when the makers of the Mammootty starrer Big B, are developing the sequel. Bilal 2 is an interesting dish prepared with boneless chicken, tapioca, pappad and chicken rolls. The eatery opens at 4 pm and serves mouthwatering dishes till 11 pm. Besides the unique food names, watching Sajeer quickly whipping up a dish is quite a sight that is enjoyed by the foodies who line up in front of this quaint eatery.
