The actress has enjoyed solo trips as well as outings with her family. In her latest YouTube video, she says that the family began the first leg of the North Indian trip in Delhi. She is a prolific vlogger and has been sharing her travel diaries on her YouTube channel ‘Life Stories With Gayathri’.
In the new video, Gayathri is seen paragliding with her daughter at the Bir Village in Himachal Pradesh. Interestingly, Bir is touted as the haven of paragliding. In the video, Gayathri, who is overwhelmed by the incredible experience, says that one should try paragliding at least once in their life. She vouches for the safety of the adventure activity which attracts hundreds of tourists to the quaint village. Besides, the paragliders who assist you are well trained professionals. The family stays the night in Bir, in a tent before traveling to Mandi on the next day.
Paragliding in Bir
Bir is known for offering exciting aerial adventurous activities. Adventure lovers from all over the globe come here to experience the thrill of paragliding. This village which is situated around 5000 feet above sea level, is hailed as the paragliding capital of India. Meanwhile, Bir is close to Dharmashala, a major tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh.
Bir often becomes the venue for international paragliding events and competitions. The flying season is from September to October. The launch site is at a hillock which is 2400 meters high. This area is just 14 kilometres north of the Bir village. Interestingly, you would be taking off from 8200 feet above sea level. You could fly for twenty minutes, enjoying the spectacular aerial view of Dhauladhar mountains, verdant fields and freshwater lakes. The visitors are allowed to fly from 9 am to 6 pm.
