South Indian actress Kaniha has enjoyed a dreamy summer vacation in Turkey and has been sharing pictures from the trip on her social media page. The picture from the Istiklal Avenue perfectly captures the vibrant colours of Istanbul. Meanwhile, Kaniha, in her blue and pink summer dress, looks radiant.

“Few months ago in Turkey…Being the happy tourist!” wrote Kaniha along with her pictures. She is an avid traveller and does not forget to share her memories from the trip with her fans too.

Istiklal Avenue is an historical street in the Beyoglu district of Istanbul, Turkey. The street has been named Istiklal, which means ‘freedom’ in Turkish to commemorate the success that the country achieved in the freedom struggle in 1923. This busy and vibrant street, is lined with countless buildings and shops. It begins at Tunal square and extends until Taksim Square which is 1.4 kilometres away. Most of the buildings have been built during the Ottoman reign. Besides, some of the buildings feature the art deco style. The buildings house boutiques, music stores, art galleries, cinema theatres, libraries, cafes, pubs, night clubs, hotels and chocolatiers too. Besides, you could even visit the branch of the iconic Madama Tussauds wax museum.

Church of St Anthony of Padua, Hagia Triada Greek Orthodox Church, Santa Maria Draperis Church and Huseyin Aga Mosque are some of the prominent religious places in Istanbul. You could even take the world’s olden subway ‘The Tunnel’ here. Tram services are available to Taksim Square every fifteen minutes.
