Actress Parvathy Thiruvoth has shared some amazing pictures from her trekking trip to the majestic Niagara waterfalls. Interestingly, her brother too could be seen in the pictures that were shared on her social media page.
Parvathy is someone who likes to travel around the world whenever she gets some free time. Sharing the pictures from her early morning hike, Parvathy wrote, “Morning hikes to capture some magical moments!” She had also shared some wonderful moments from her earlier trip to Sweden.
The Niagara waterfalls that lies between New York state in the US and the Canadian province of Ontario is one of the mostly visited tourist destinations in the world. The splendid waterfall that was formed around 10,000 years ago, at the end of the Ice Age, is known for its scintillating beauty and great historical significance. It is estimated that around 30 million tourists visit the waterfalls every year.
A group of three waterfalls called the Horseshoe falls, American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls, forms the iconic Niagara waterfalls. The Horseshoe Falls is between the international borders of the US and Canada while the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls are completely within the United States of America. As the waterfall begins in the US and falls in Canada, its majestic beauty could be enjoyed in all its glory from the Canadian side.
Magical Niagara
The Niagara falls that registers a waterflow rate of 16,80,00 cubic metres is one of the biggest hydro electric sources in the world. The Horseshoe Falls is the biggest among the three and has a flow rate of 22,50,00 cubic metres. This is the biggest waterfall in the US.
The tourists can enjoy boat rides and helicopter rides to enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of the Niagara waterfalls. Besides, the visitors can enjoy gardens, ancient caves and underground walkways too. Boat services take you closer to the falls. Watching the water fall like a giant wall is a spectacular view. This boat service from the American side is called the ‘Maid of the Mist’. Meanwhile, in the Canadian side, it is called the ‘Horn Blower Cruise’.
Season
The best time to visit the Niagara waterfalls is from June to August. The weather during the summer is excellent. In the Canadian side, the banks of the waterfalls are floodlit until late into night to entertain the visitors.
