Rishikesh is 25km away from the holy city of Haridwar. The Ganges, after originating from the Himalayas, flows through the mountainous terrain and enters the plains at Rishikesh, which is known as the ‘Gateway of Himalayas’. Rishikesh, situated in the foothills of the Himalayas, is the starting point of the journeys to holy places such as Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. It is also dotted with many ashrams, hermits and yoga centers.

When the Ganges reaches Rishikesh, the river is all zestful as the milky waters flow through the Shivalik mountain ranges. The ‘Ganga Aarti’ conducted on the banks of Ganga in the evenings is a visual treat.
