Poornima Indrajith's Goan sojourn seems to have taken the internet by storm. The actor-designer's insta feeds are filled with her post-Christmas trip to Goa, with quite a few familiar faces in the background.
She had headed to the famous Patnem Beach, popular for its beach shacks, music bands and water sports. They have charming resorts and hotels shaped like huts along with some delicious Goan cuisine. Located in south Goa, and almost 78 kilometres from Panaji, Patnem Beach is only 5 minutes from Palolem beach. The tourist season is between October to March.
Things to do at Patnem Beach
Try their popular yoga retreats- Bamboo Yoga Retreat (healthy food and clean accommodation in bamboo huts) Kranti Yoga Village Beach Resort offers Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Flow.
Patnem is great for its nightlife and we think bringing your own instruments at the beach shacks is not a bad idea. Head to Leopard Valley near Agonda, or the Silent Noise headphone parties near Palolem for the weekend.
In case you want to shop, there are quite a few lovely ones selling silver jewellery and bags. You can visit the Jaali Boutique and Cafe, amid a garden and feast on their designer clothes, Rajasthani jewellery, textiles, vintage furniture, and other handicrafts, apart from their delicious cuisine. There are Yoga cooking classes, Ayurvedic healing massages and some great spas.
Though Goa might miss on its yearly influx of foreign tourists, due to the COVID restrictions, Indians are making the most of the new hotel package deals in the State. Reportedly out of the 46,000 rooms allotted to tourists a mere 27k are allowed for foreigners. But then again hotels and resorts offer rooms for 20 to 30% discount rates.
Baga, Calangute, Sinquerim, Morjim, Kolwa, Sernabatim, Benaulim, Palolem, Patnam, Rajbhag and West Goa are inundated with vacationers this season.
