Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has shared on Instagram several photos and videos of her most recent trip to the Maldives, earning numerous likes. The most striking picture shows the celebrity floating over the expansive blue waters. Recalling an old nursery rhyme, Sonakshi has captioned the image as ‘Sona jal ki rani hai…’ (Sona is the Queen of the waters).
In some of the other pictures and videos shot during the Maldives vacation, Sonakshi is seen engaging in scuba diving. “I am now licensed scuba diver… something I have been wanting to do for years, and finally got down to it!” writes the actress.
She continues, “My love for the ocean has just grown ever since my first snorkel experience and this is taking it to a whole new level…”
Another video shared by Sonakshi has the celebrity diving into the ocean from a boat and swimming with the fishes. The joy felt by Sonakshi while in the waters is evident in the video.

A favourite of film stars
Maldives has now turned the preferred holiday destination of celebrities, including not only Bollywood stars but also actors from other regions. Among the noted names from the film industry to spend their vacation in the island nation recently and share images on social media are Samantha Akkineni, Rakul Preet Singh, Neha Dhupia, Tara Sutaria, Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani, Taapsee Pannu, Varun Dhawan, Elli AvRam and Mouni Roy. Moreover, recently-married south Indian actress Kajal Aggarwal and her husband Goutham Kitchlu had posted stunning photos of their honeymoon in Maldives, which went viral.
The tourist centres in Maldives had reopened after the lockdown caused by COVID-19 pandemic in July. They soon became very popular travel destinations by offering excellent facilities for visitors and imposing little restrictions on tourists.
