Actress Rajisha Vijayan travelled to picturesque Kasol in Himachal Pradesh a few weeks before the travel restrictions came into force as part of the COVID-19 lockdown. Now the celebrity has shared pictures and details of her trip on Instagram.

“After an overnight journey from Delhi, we woke to the amazing view of the Himalayas. Kasol is a magnificent place for travellers, situated right in Parvati valley, it is a true home for anyone seeking nature and peace,” says Rajisha in her post.

Along with sharing the view from her cottage, the actress says she collected pebbles as souvenirs from the trip. “The serene view along with the soothing sound of the gushing river meant I could meditate in a second,” according to her.

Kasol, situated at an altitude of 1,640 m above sea level, has always been a favourite among travel lovers. It is 42 east of Kullu, the most famous tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh. A tiny hamlet on the banks of the Parvati River and along the route from Bhuntar to Manikaran, Kasol lures travellers throughout the year with stunning views of the Himalayas, pristine weather and thin crowds. It is also a top preference for backpackers, thanks to the budget facilities available.

Also called the ‘Mini Israel’ of Himachal Pradesh, Kasol is the starting point of Himalayan treks to Sar Pass, Yanker Pass, Pin Parvati Pass and Kheerganga. It is an ideal spot for water rafting too.
