According to Reshmi, her husband too loves travelling. “We have even kept work-related assignments aside and went on trips. The experiences travels offer will always remain in our memory,” she says.

“Visiting places gives us an opportunity to learn more about the people, life, culture, language and cuisine,” points out the actress.

“We have toured Switzerland, Paris, Moscow and other places in Russia, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, Finland, Singapore, Malaysia, Oman and Saudi Arabia. But our first trip together was to Paris and Switzerland,” says Reshmi.

In Paris, Eiffel Tower was the biggest attraction for Reshmi. “When it is dark, the tower becomes even more stunning. Visitors can travel up to the top of the tower. I was always afraid of heights but I did travel up. However, the descent was more frightening that the ascent,” according to Reshmi.

“Paris is a city of love,” she adds.

From Paris, Reshmi and her husband travelled to Switzerland. The trip was by bus. “The beauty of Switzerland is indescribable. Each corner of the country is blessed with amazing scenery. The ropeway at Titlis and the snow-covered landscape thrilled me,” she explains.

The couple's next destinations were Prague, Budapest, Vienna and Bratislava. “They offered eye-popping sights. Before setting out for these places, much information was collected thanks to Google and we had a clear idea about the tourist spots, facilities and places to stay,” recalls Reshmi.

There were good tourist guides who explained everything in an interesting manner. Among these places, it was the beauty of Prague that swept Reshmi off her feet. “The architecture of the city retained the glory of the past. I felt that we were in a dream city. There were houses made of wood, forts and moats which help a person remember all those fairy tales. Similarly, Bratislava and Vienna also offered striking sights,” says the actress.

Russia too fascinated Reshmi with its grand palaces, huge castles and ancient churches. “Moscow and St Petersburg are two places that a traveller should never miss,” according to the star.

Happiest people on Earth

Everyone in the world is in awe of the people in Finland. The cold and the snow attract people to the place. The country is surrounded by islands and the scenery is amazing. Reshmi thoroughly enjoyed the visit to the country.

Another interesting aspect of Finland is that its people are the happiest in the world, according to a study by the United Nations in 2018. The last phase of the Finland trip was a visit to the land of Santa Claus. Extreme cold was experienced there. There were small hills and thick forests. Valleys and peaks without trees also presented a stunning sight.

“The cold was unbearable but curiously the local people moved around without even a sweater. Everyone drank warm berry juice. It helps maintain the body heat, we were told. We too tasted it,” says the celebrity.

Guided by Google

Most of the trips Reshmi and her husband took out had the help of guides. “But now we are our own guides. We depend on Google and feel that such journeys are more enjoyable,” she explains.

Reshmi also carries a good camera and captures several interesting images. “Among the unique experiences was the visit to the casino. We ensure that it takes place on most of our trips,” she adds.

Every journey gives the actress the chance to relish the local cuisine. “You can rightly call me a foodie,” she admits.

Even though Reshmi has travelled to many places in the world, her journeys in India have been few. “But I have a dream. It is a road trip abroad and I am waiting for it to take place,” winds up the star.
