India have created history by entering the men's quarterfinals of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup for the first time.

India defeated Chinese Taipei 21-18 in their first game in Pool B. Arvind Muthu Krishnan top-scored with 9 points, while Harsh Dagar, Kushal Singh and Pranav Prince added four points each.

Dagar was the star performer in India's three wins in the qualifying rounds. Pranav, who works in Chennai, is a native of Thiruvananthapuram.

India's progress to the knockout stages was confirmed after Taipei lost their second game to second-seed China, 21-10. India so nearly caused an upset when they led China 15-13, but lost 19-21.

India will take on New Zealand from Pool D in the quarterfinals on March 30.
