Kerala's Nayana James once again got the better of Shaili Singh, the best active women's long jumper in the country, at the National Federation Cup athletics championships at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

Nayana bagged gold with a best effort of 6.53 metres while Uttar Pradesh's Shaili settled for silver with 6.34m. West Bengal's Moumita Mondal took bronze with 6.18m.

Nayana had upset Shaili at the Indian Open Jumps competition in March where she finished first with a personal best of 6.67m. That was the third-best jump by an Indian woman after Anju Bobby George's national record of 6.83m and Shaili's best of 6.76m.

However, both Nayana and Shaili, have yet to qualify for the upcoming Paris Olympics as the entry standard is 6.86m.
