Brazilian striker Dorielton Gomes Nascimento, popularly known as Dori, has signed for Indian Super League (ISL) side Odisha FC. Football fans in Kerala should be familiar with this veteran striker who turned up for Forca Kochi in the inaugural edition of Super League Kerala. Dori finished the top scorer in SLK with 8 goals in 11 matches, including in the final, which Forca lost 1-2 to Calicut FC.

The 34-year-old joins Sergio Lobera's side to fill in the void left by forward Roy Krishna, who is out for the season with an injury. The forward has already joined the first team training under Sergio Lobera and will be available to play in the league for the Kalinga Warriors from 1st January 2025.

It would be interesting to see him line-up against Kerala Blasters when Odisha visit Kochi on January 13. Dori's former side Forca played their home matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at Kaloor, the same ground the Blasters call home.

Dori began his professional journey with Fluminense in Brazil, before flourishing in Bangladesh with Dhaka Abahani and Bashundhara Kings. With the Kings, Dori scored a brace to defeat his current employers in the AFC Cup. "A player we know well from facing him in the AFC Cup, he is a goalscorer, he has scored many goals in all the teams he has been in. He has a lot of experience and he is a player who I think can help us a lot," said Odisha coach Lobera.
