An improved second-half display from Forca Kochi powered them to a 2-1 comeback win over Thiruvananthapuram Kombans, their first in the Super League Kerala.

Brazilian Marcos Wilder had put the visitors ahead in the 41st minute. But the hosts came roaring back and found the equaliser in the 62nd minute through Rahul KP.

Brazilian striker Dorielton Gomes hit the winner in the 76th minute, and Kochi prevailed thanks to the heroics of their goalkeeper Hajmal, who made a smart save in the dying moments. Hajmal dived low to his left to deny substitute Autemar in the 86 minute.

Nijo Gilbert could have made it 3-1 shortly afterwards as he dribbled toward the byline and attempted a smart finish between the keeper and the post, only to miss narrowly.

The wily Kerala winger had set up Dorielton's winner with a tempting cross. The Kombans' defence was at fault as it went blank, allowing the Brazilian, unmarked in space, to strike on the volley.

Dorielton had set up Rahul's equaliser shortly after the hour. He dragged the ball wide, and Abdul Badish left his marker to follow him, only to look back haplessly as Rahul finished a pull back with ease.

The Kochi side, co-owned by actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, have climbed into third position in the points table with five points from four outings. The Kombans, also on five points, remain fourth in the table.
