Kerala Blasters have encountered mixed reactions from its fanbase for embracing 'the colours of love' by posting in support of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The Indian Super League (ISL) side, which is one of the most popular football clubs in India, posted about the need for 'inclusivity' on the occasion of #PrideMonth.
Pride Month, usually observed in June, is a global celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and other sexual orientations.
While the Blasters' faithful usually endorses the social media posts from the club, this time it felt different as several comments under the post on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram were homophobic.
The majority of the comments on Twitter had 'L', internet slang for loss or loser. But some users also used the opposite, 'W', meaning 'win', a comment of endorsement or appreciation.
"Not dumb enough to take everything the club does positively. L blasters," commented a person on Facebook.
However, the number of 'likes', 'heart' and 'thumbs up' reactions to the post on various social media platforms indicate that love has trumped hate.
