According to a report in German magazine Der Spiegel, the Portuguese football star raped an American woman in 2009.

Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo's lawyers are all set to sue German magazine Der Spiegel after it published “blatantly illegal” accusations by an American woman who alleges she was raped by the Juventus player in 2009.

The five-time world player of the year moved to Juventus from Real Madrid this summer for 100 million euros. The Italian giants have declined to comment on the report.

According to the magazine report, the rape allegedly took place in June, 2009, in a hotel room in Las Vegas, as stated by Leslie Mark Stovall, lawyer for the alleged victim. According to Stovall, Ronaldo and the victim then reached an out-of-court agreement. She pledged never to speak of the accusation again and Ronaldo paid her $375,000.
