Kochi: The one-minute pre-tournament pump-up song themed on Kerala Blasters has become a huge hit on Internet, accumulating over 15 lakh views.

The song ‘Kalippadakkanam, Kappadikkanam’ (loosely translated as ‘fulfill the emotions, clinch the cup’), is produced by the organizers of the Indian Super League (ISL).

Sung by actor-director Murali Gopy, the song was inspired by the hit number ‘Kalippu Kattakalippu’ from the Nivin Pauly-starrer blockbuster movie Premam. Interestingly, the original song was also rendered by him.

The video had been shot before the players flew to Spain to attend a pre-season training camp, said director P. A. Sivakumar of the Kochi-based Mindmine Films.

“It took just two days to film the entire visuals. The Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode was the location,” he added.
