Punjab batter Anmolpreet Singh, who went unsold in the recent IPL Mega Auction, smashed the fastest List A hundred by an Indian in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

The 26-year-old right-hander reached his century in 35 balls, eclipsing Yusuf Pathan's 40-ball century for Baroda against Maharashtra in 2010, also in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Anmolpreet's unbeaten 115 off 45 balls, comprising nine sixes and 12 boundaries, helped Punjab defeat Arunachal Pradesh by nine wickets. Arunachal were bowled out for 164 in 48.4 overs, with Mayank Markande and Ashwani Kumar taking three wickets each.

Punjab chased down the modest target in 12.5 overs, with Prabhsimran Singh unbeaten on 35. Anmolpreet featured for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
