The first set on day two of IPL 2025 Mega Auction witnessed a series of players go unsold. Kane Williamson, Glenn Phillips, Rovman Powell, Faf du Plessis, Ajinkya Rahane, Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw were among those who had no takers.

Shardul Thakur too went unsold at a base price of Rs 2 crore. The first bidding battle on the day was for Washington Sundar with Gujarat Titans and LSG doing a round of bidding. The Titans bagged the all-rounder for Rs. 3.2 crore.

After nearly an hour of bidding, Bhuvneshwar Kumar became the first player on the second day to invite bids in excess of Rs 10 crore. RCB swooped in with a successful bid of Rs. 10.75 crore for the pacer after a bidding war between LSG and Mumbai Indians.

Punjab Kings succeeded in getting hold of South African Marco Jansen for Rs. 7 crore. Rajasthan Royals signed up Tushar Deshpande for Rs 6.5 crore after a thrilling bidding war with CSK.

The first exciting bid on the afternoon was for all-rounder Krunal Pandya. Rajasthan Royals and RCB went a few rounds, with the former have long pauses in between as they went as high as Rs. 5.50 cr from the base price of Rs. 2 crore. But RCB got their player for Rs. 5.75 cr and LSG chose not to use the RTM (Right To Match) option.

The opening day saw Lucknow Super Giants break the bank to land Rishabh Pant for a record Rs 27 crore. A total of Rs 467.95 crores were spent on 72 players on the first day.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians had the biggest purse of Rs 30.65 crore and Rs 26.10 crore respectively going into the final day of the auction. Punjab Kings have Rs 22.50 crore while Sunrisers Hyderabad have just Rs. 5.15 crore to complete the rest of their squad.
