Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) snapped their six-match losing streak with a thumping 35-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2024 on Thursday night. Rajat Patidar's 20-ball 50, Virat Kohli's patient knock (51 off 43 balls) and Cameron Green unbeaten 37 off 20 deliveries were instrumental in taking RCB to 206/7 on two-paced track at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
SRH slumped to 56/4 at the end of five overs as Impact Player Swapnil Singh took out the South African duo of Aiden Markram and Heinrcih Klaasen with his left-arm spin bowling. They never really recovered from the early strikes and finished on 171/8 as RCB inflicted the first home loss on SRH this season. Green, leg-spinner Karn Sharma and Swapnil claimed two apiece for the winners.
SRH are in third spot with 10 points from eight games, while RCB remain at the bottom with four points from nine matches.
SRH next meet Chennai Super Kings in an away fixture, while RCB lock horns with Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on the same day.
