New Delhi: Rishabh Pant dazzled in Delhi Capitals' (DC) exciting four-run win over Gujarat Titans (GT) in their IPL match at the Arun Jaitely Stadium here on Wednesday night. DC captain Pant smashed an unbeaten 88 off just off 43 balls and put on 113 runs for the fourth wicket along with Axar Patel (66) as the home side overcame the loss of three early wickets to finish on 224/4 after being put in to bat.
GT medium-pacer Mohit Sharma ended up with the most expensive bowling figures in IPL history as the veteran gave away 73 runs off his four overs and failed to pick up a wicket. Meanwhile, Sandeep Warrier recorded the best show by a Keralite bowler as the pacer claimed 3/15 in his three overs.
Though Sai Sudharsan (65) and David Miller (55) fought hard, former champions GT ended up with 220/8. Kuldeep Yadav (2/29) was the pick of the DC bowlers. Fast bowler Rasikh Dar Salam scalped three while conceding 44 in his four overs.
The victory lifted DC to sixth place with eight points from nine games, while GT slumped to seventh with eight points from nine matches.
DC next take on Mumbai Indians in another home game on Saturday, while GT host Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday.
