Ranji Trophy: Sachin Baby continues dream run as Kerala gain control

Vizianagaram: Acting-captain Sachin Baby led from the front as Kerala gained control of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match against Andhra here on Saturday. Kerala ended the second day on 258/3, juut 14 runs adrift of the home side's first innings total of 272.

Sachin was batting on 87 with Akshay Chandran giving him company on 57. The two left-handers have added 134 runs for the unbroken fourth wicket. This was Sachin's eighth 50-plus score this season.

Opener Rohan Kunnummal (61) and Krishna Prasad (43) put on 86 for the second wicket after Jalaj Saxena was dismissed for four.

Resuming on 260/7, Andhra could only add 12 more before losing the remaining three wickets. Skipper Ricky Bhui was left stranded on 87. Bhui hit 13 fours in his 152-ball knock.

Basil Thampi claimed 4/48 for Kerala.
