» It said Radio Pakistan has misquoted Russian ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Dedov on the issue, and Indian media repeated the error.
» The issue had led to social media anger at Russia in Indian, and raised concerns about Russia moving closer to Pakistan at a time of fraught Indo-Pak relations.
