Chennai: In apparent signs of giving in, beleaguered AIADMK (Amma) deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran said a 'good decision' will be taken in the interests of the party.

Stating that there was no opposition against him in the party, Dhinakaran reportedly canceled a meeting of party MLAs and district secretaries he had convened later in the day.

"No problem with the possible merger of AIADMK factions if it benefits the party," he said, breaking his silence since an influential section of ministers revolted against him Tuesday night and decided to keep general secretary V.K. Sasikala and him out of the party. He further said that Sasikala had made him the deputy general secretary and that he would have to consult her before resigning from the post.

Party sources indicated that he was expected to appear at the Economic Offences court here in an FERA case.
