2. The officials seized Rs 8 lakh – Rs 1.5 lakh from the former minister's house and Rs 6.5 lakh from Mohanan (Babu's friend and owner of Royal Bakers in Thrippunithura). However, it is yet to be confirmed whether this sum is part of the illegal assets.

3. The raids were conducted after an FIR was registered based on a complaint filed by an Thrippunithura-based anti-corruption organization against the former minister.

4. The FIR said that Babu amassed wealth misusing his minister post during the UDF rule and that he bought properties using his benamis in Ernakulam and outside Kerala.

5. The Congress leader, however, denied all the charges against him. He said he has paid tax for all his assets and that the raid was an 'act of vengeance'.
