Kerala govt opposes bail to CPM leader Zakir Husain in kidnapping case

Thrissur: The LDF government in Kerala on Friday informed a court not to give bail to CPM Kalamassery area secretary and Ernakulam district sports council president V.A. Zakir Husain, who had allegedly kidnapped and threatened a young businessman.

There are 16 cases against the leader. The Ernakulam magistrate court will pronounce the verdict on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has filed a case against against he CPM leader for threatening a woman entrepreneur and taking Rs 75 lakh and gold ornaments from her.

Husain trail leads to former assistant commissioner of police

Police had earlier arrested DYFI unit secretary Siddique and accomplices in connection with the case.
