Kerala man commits two murders in three days Accused Manikandan (L), deceased Manu and Sharada

Attingal (Thiruvananthapuram): The Kerala police have said that a 30-year-old construction worker murdered a youth and then killed an elderly woman living alone at her house in Kadakkavoor in a span of three days.

Manikandan, the accused in the murder of elderly woman Sharada, is also believed to have stabbed Manu Kathikeyan (33) to death. Police said that Manikandan killed the 70-year-old woman when she resisted his advances Friday (December 9).

Police had arrested Manikandan for killing Sharada and during investigation, details of the second murder came to be known.

Manikandan and his friend Ashokan had picked up a fight with Manu three weeks ago when Manu and his accomplice had beaten up the duo. Manikandan then began stalking Manu.

The police said that Manu was stabbed outside his home on December 6 but his statements could not be recorded as he was in an unconscious state. However, the police came to know of the crime when they questioned Ashokan.
