Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and family are set for a pesticide-free Onam spread.
The terrace of his official residence, Cliff House, has turned into an organic farm with eggplants, spinach, coriander, okra and several other vegetables growing in grow bags.
The chief minister joins his wife Kamala Vijayan and grandson Eshan in tending to the plants before he starts his day at office.
The terrace farm, supervised by the department of agriculture development and farmers' welfare, is being irrigated by an automated drip system.
Thiruvananthapuram district agricultural officer S.K. Suresh, deputy director C.F. Salinskumar and agricultural officer C.L. Mini oversee the farm.
