Kochi: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to enquire about the sexual harassment complaint filed by actress Honey Rose against Boby Chemmanur, a senior officer said on Wednesday. In her social media post, the actress accused him of making "repeated sexually coloured" remarks against her.

"A special investigation team has been formed. The circle inspector of the Kochi central station is entrusted with the investigation. Besides him, the team will also comprise the personnel of the central station and of the cyber cell," the officer said on Tuesday.

When asked about further proceedings, the senior officer said non-bailable sections had also been slapped against the accused, and the SIT would soon take necessary steps.

"The statement of the complainant will be recorded first. The other steps will be taken after that," he added. The Central Police registered a case against Boby Chemmanur under various sections of the BNS and Section 67 of the IT Act.

In her complaint, Rose highlighted the sexual harassment she faced during the inauguration of Chemmanur's jewellery store in Alakode, Kannur, on August 7. She further detailed the difficulties she encountered on various platforms following the incident. Cases were also registered against 20 YouTubers.

Rejecting the actress's charges, Chemmanur said they had no such issues. He claimed that he didn't use any derogatory terms, as alleged by her, and he always interacted with her in a friendly manner.
