Man stabbed to death in Varkala; one arrested

Thiruvananthapuram: A man was stabbed to death in Varkala, here on Tuesday night. The deceased is Shahjahan (60). The incident occurred near the Thazhavettoor Church. The police have arrested Shakir, a resident of Thazhavettoor.

Earlier that day, Shajahan had alerted the police about a three-member group using drugs near the church. This led to an act of vengeance, with the gang attacking him later in the evening.

Shahjahan sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The police have intensified their search for other suspects involved in the crime.
