Kannur: A man miraculously escaped after lying low on the railway track as a train passed him at Pannenpara. A video of the incident, captured by a passerby, went viral on social media.

Pavithran, a Chirakkal native, said he was walking on the track and looking at his mobile.  "I was walking on the track as usual. I take this every day. When I heard the train's horn, I threw the phone away and lied as low as I could," Pavithran told Manorama News.

"I was confident that I would not be hit by the engine or any part of the train. I was not afraid at all. But I was really scared when I saw the video of my escape. I thank my stars. I think I was destined to meet my children, and that's why I escaped unhurt."

He told Manorama News that he would think twice before walking on the tracks.
